Main house - ground floor: large open and fully equipped kitchen (fridge / freezer, oven / microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fruit press, espresso machine, toaster... and plenty of stylish cutlery, glasses and kitchenware). On the first floor there is a lovely open plan living room with original features, a seating area and a wood burning stove. On the top floor there is an open plan bedroom in loft style with air-conditioning, a double bed an open en-suite bathroom with sink, toilet, bathtub/shower and large wardrobe. Each cottage has a private entrance and comprises one large bedroom with a double bed or two separate single beds, air-conditioning and a separate bathroom (sink, toilet and open shower) a private front terrace with spectacular sea views. What extras do we offer? A personalized warm welcome will be organized on the day of your arrival in order to make you familiar to the house and the environment. During your full stay a local host speaking perfect English will be at your disposal for any questions (on call) and your additional wishes which will make your holiday unforgettable. We will be delighted to organize tailor made arrangement (at reasonable prices) according to your wishes transfers to airport/ferry, wine tasting, delivery of local products cheeses, smoked ham, fruits and vegetables, provision of essential oils of rosemary, thyme, lavender and all kind of organically grown medicinal herbs, organization of visits and excursions, car- boat or scooter rentals, professional massages and private yoga classes, cooking services... Moreover extra housekeeping and pool cleaning can be organized at an additional charge. Beaches The two beaches close to the house are rocky - pebble, situated in bays, surrounded by pine forests. The first one "Zarace Uvala" is a large beach with some restaurants, renting of chairs and umbrellas and is accessible by road by car (5 minutes / 1.5 km) or by foot via a path (15 min). The second one is a small pittoresk bay only reachable by foot with a very sportive walk of 25 minutes by foot on a small and hilly footpath. Moreover a large number of other beautiful beaches are available on the island (Vrboska, Pokonji Dol, Dubovica, Milna, Vira …). Sport activities Sport on courts in Hvar (tennis, basketball, handball, sand volleyball, football...), water sports (swimming, windsurfing, parasailing, jet ski or water-skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling … ) and biking are available on the island. Hiking with a map on the old shepherd's paths and hidden trails through the pine forests or you can join some of organized walking tours. Take a walk through beautiful landscapes discovering abandoned villages (Zarace, Velo Grablje … ) the lavender fields, olive plantations and fruitful vineyards. Nordic walking is practiced by a lot of people. Climbing (organised or not) on one of the several locations advisable for climbing (Milna, Sveta Nedjelja, Podstine. …). Excursions (organised or not) on the island, on the mainland (Split, Dubrovnik … ) or to other island (Brač, Vis, Hvar, Korčula, Pakleni Islands … ). Renting cars, four wheel drives, scooter or bicycles brings you all around the island on the most beautiful places. Eating out On the hole island there is a great choice of restaurants (Hvar, Milna, Starigrad, Jelsa …) with international and Dalmatian Mediterranean cuisine, with fresh and healthy seafood, home-grown bio food, local smoked ham and local cheese, olive extra virgin oil, local herbs, local wines. There are different types of restaurants; in trendy and exquisite locations or just in simple cosy places ("Konoba" in Croatian). Night life For clubbing and night entertaining you can choose between large open-air lounge clubs, cafés with live music, wine and cocktails bars, jazz clubs, open air disco and nightclubs, classic concerts in the Franciscan Monastery etc. Cultural and architectural The town of Hvar has a rich cultural tradition and was an important centre of architecture and is now a protected Cultural Heritage area. The town is encircled on its land-side by protective walls, and overlooked by two massive fortresses build by the Venetians. Within the walls buildings and palaces have survived and are still in the Venetian architectural style (St Stephen's Cathedral, Piazza, the Bishop's Palace, the Arsenal, the Governor's Palace, Franciscan Monastery …). Other cities and villages on the island such as Starigrad, Vrboska, Jelsa …. are pleasant and attractive sites on the sea with harbours and marinas where you can find all kinds of touristic activities (Starigrad's plain is a UNESCO protected world heritage site). Shops In the local shops (bakery, butcher, fish shop …) local vegetable markets and supermarkets not far from the house you can buy all you need good healthy local products brands and international important goods for your home cooking and at affordable prices. The closets shop is in Milna at 4 km and the closest supermarket is in Starigrad at 8 km.
